TOY TRAIN FROM CUBBON PARK TO MANTRI MALL

1990 - 2000

Going to Cubbon park with family in the evening was a treat to me and my cousins as children. The most important part was the toy train. It was rave for us cousins to go in the toy train. Back then, if you have traveled in the toy train, it was something to boast in front of friends.

Now a days, my nephew and niece who are 8 - 10 years old like travelling in the toy train. But, its not the toy train in Cubbon park, its the one in Mantri Mall at Malleswaram. The concept of going to parks has reduced and people have started to go to malls nowadays.

FROM LALBAGH TO FORUM

1990 - 2000

Summer holidays during school days is a big thing for any school kid. Its either school kids go abroad or they go to their native. But, for me once in a while, it meant stay at home and wait for my relatives to come from Mumbai and Chennai to visit me here in Bangalore/Bengaluru. It used to be fun filled week. Apart from playing antakshari and family get together parties, one thing was very prominent i.e, a visit to Lalbagh. Whenever my cousins came to Bangalore/Bengaluru, one evening in Lalbagh was must and should which was followed by delicious tiffin in MTR.

Now a days, whenever my relatives come to Bangalore/Bengaluru, the concept of playing antakshari is completely vanished. Lalbagh is being substituted by malls like Forum and Orion mall. We go to a mall, do window shopping, catch a movie and dine in Pizza hut.
